Locks were invented by people with the transition to a settled, steady housing construction with a solid door and stratification. The first locks were invented in China, Egypt or Mesopotamia. There appeared overcrowded population in large settlements and institutions of personal power. Locks needed rulers, as trust stocks of food, treasure and life tribe, hired guards, and even close relatives has become dangerous. The first metal locks are known in Europe since Roman times, although the construction with wooden bolts and metal keys had appeared earlier. So in ancient Greece was distributed type of lock that locks the rope traction, and unlocking the long bronze key. There were two main types of locks. The first is known as the Old German, it ended bolt canted deck. Such locking snaps with collapse of the door, but required a metal bar to hang reception. To unlock, the key was inserted into the keyhole, and was deployed in the 100-120 °. Reliability of the the lock was small. In the old French system, the bolt had a straight front section - the key was inserted and cranked (a multiple of 180 °) - it is often placed over the bolt spring, which slowed down the spontaneous movement of it. Picking of this lock was a rare. Period of technological revolution, the end of the XVIII-XIX centuries gave a powerful impetus and the lock. Separate species have safe deposit system. In 1831 William Ruserford patented the first lock with a clockwork mechanism. The inventor has put in the back end of the crossbar of a round plate, which hindered the movement of the bolt key until the plate (rotates clock mechanism) does not become the axle bolt groove. These castles were sufficiently reliable. Many interesting things invented in the twentieth century. In 1919, the Finnish engineer Emil Henriksson received a patent for a disk (balanced) cylinder engine. The idea prompted by the machine to count the money. With the development of the construction of large buildings (offices and hotels) it became necessary to develop rapidly tunable locking systems. Electronic systems have received wide. |
